FIRM HISTORY

McHenry and Associates, Inc., was formed in January, 1986, to provide professional engineering services in the field of mechanical and electrical engineering. This firm is a continuation of the professional engineering practice of Menster, McHenry and Associates, Inc., and Paul C. Menster and Associates. Paul C. Menster and Associates was organized to provide consulting and design services in August, 1960. The firm under these names has continuously provided services for 47 years.

The firm provides professional mechanical and electrical engineering services on a wide range of new and renovation type projects. Our experience includes commercial, office, mercantile, retail, recreation, institutional, residential apartment projects, and industrial facilities. This broad background of experience enables the firm to provide innovative designs to satisfy a particular project's requirements. The firm also provides code analyses, feasibility studies, cost estimates, and energy utilization studies related to the mechanical and electrical systems.

 

SCOPE OF SERVICES

 

1. The engineering services offered by McHenry & Associates, Inc., are, in general, related to the mechanical and electrical systems for all types of buildings. Our services are comprehensive and include all mechanical and electrical systems for a project.

2. The mechanical services include the following:

 

a. Building storm drainage systems.

b. Plumbing and domestic water distribution.

c. Fire protection systems, including standpipes, sprinklers, and fire pumps.

d. Fuel and energy systems, including liquid propane and oil storage.

e. Compressed air and process piping systems.

f. Steam and hydronic heating systems.

h. Refrigeration systems.

i. Ventilation, exhaust and make-up air systems.

j. Control systems and energy management systems.

k. Energy recovery systems.

l. Process piping systems and medical gas systems.

 

3. The electrical services include the following:

a. Power service facilities.

b. Power distribution.

c. Lighting systems.

d. Communication and sound systems.

e. Fire detection and alarm systems.

f. Emergency power generation systems.

 

4. Consultation and system analysis services include the following:

a. Feasibility and cost analyses for projects.

b. Analyses and studies of existing facilities.

c. Energy utilization and management studies.

d. Operating cost and comparative fuel studies.

e. Life cycle costing and value analyses.

PERSONNEL

1. Our project personnel have a broad background of education, training and experience necessary for completion of a successful design within the parameter appropriate for a particular project. Since our firm provides in-house mechanical and electrical design, the staff is attentive to the requirements of coordination within the professional disciplines.

Our permanent staff includes 32 employees, 9 of which are registered mechanical and/or electrical engineers and 16 are engineering graduates. The remaining staff includes designers, CAD technicians and support staff.

2. The firm also avails itself of the resources of other consultants having expertise to complement the staff in the execution of projects, when appropriate.
