LEED Projects - (Return to Projects Page)

McHenry and Associates, Inc. has been involved in several Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accredited projects over the years. We employee LEED certified engineers that can apply their knowledge of mechanical and electrical building systems to a project to comply with LEED design standards for submission under the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) administration process.

1) Higbee Building 6th, 8th and 9th Floor Shell Building Renovation, Cleveland, Ohio
The Higbee Building is an 870,200 sq. ft. multi-story historical building built in 1931 that is connected to Tower City on Cleveland’s Public Square

2) DDC Clinic for Special Needs Children, Middlefield, Ohio
This 10,000 square foot healthcare facility is being submitted as a LEED Silver project.  In conjunction with the project architect, we evaluated building envelope construction materials, performed a computer-simulated energy evaluation and designed a geothermal ground source HVAC system, producing an estimated 42% energy savings over a standard code compliant building design (Click here for more details)

3) Stafford Park Retail, Stafford Park, NJ
Located on the site of a former landfill, this retail center was the first LEED certified center in the area.  McHenry & Associates worked to design and implement energy saving strategies for Dicks Sporting Goods & Petsmart which resulted in LEED Silver certification for both tenants.  Our consulting services included: design documents, energy modeling and LEED credit documentation through the USGBC web submission tool.  Many of the energy saving strategies we implemented for this site have since been incorporated into the tenants prototype documents (Click here for more details)
